When using cold water for the unit, the temperature should not be lower than 5 ℃ to prevent condensation; Hot water should not exceed 80 ℃ (usually 60 ℃).

Key points for selection
1. The main control parameters selected for the unit include rated air volume, outlet static pressure, input power, rated cooling capacity, rated heating capacity, noise, water resistance, etc.
2. The air supply capacity of the fan coil unit is about 250-2500m/h, and the outlet static pressure is less than 100Pa (high static pressure type is considered when the outlet static pressure is greater than 30Pa).
3. The selection of unit specifications should be determined by factors such as room cooling and heating loads, as well as the heat to humidity ratio of the air
1) When the enthalpy of fresh air and room air parameters are equal, the fan coil unit only bears the cooling and heating loads generated by the enclosure structure and the interior of the room;
2) When the enthalpy value of the fresh air is greater or less than the enthalpy value of the room air, the fan coil unit should add or deduct some of the fresh air cooling and heating loads;
3) When the absolute humidity of the fresh air is lower than the humidity of the room air and can fully bear the room's humidity load, the fan coil unit can only bear the room's sensible heat load and should be configured according to dry conditions;
4) When the sensible heat load in the room accounts for a large proportion, the air volume of the fan coil unit should be verified through sensible heat balance calculation.
When selecting a unit, the deviation between actual performance and rated value should be considered, and the following characteristics should be noted:
1) The rated cooling capacity of the unit is generally the test value under the condition that the air enthalpy drop is equal to 15.9kJ/kg;
2) The rated heating capacity of a single coil tube unit is generally 1.5 times the rated cooling capacity;
3) All parameters of the rated value are the values of the fan at high speed, and it is generally recommended to select the values based on the mid-range wind speed of the product sample during design. If the product does not provide rated value data at different wind speeds, it can be converted according to Table 3.

For the fan coil unit of the dual pipe water system (applicable to air conditioning systems that only switch heating or cooling according to seasons or air conditioning areas), only one set of coils is configured, with a dual-purpose model for heating/cooling in winter and summer. For the fan coil unit of a four pipe water system (suitable for air conditioning systems with frequent switching between heating and cooling), a combined model of heating and cooling coils should be configured.
7. For low-temperature and cold storage air conditioning systems, large temperature difference units should be selected.
Currently, there are the following control types for fan coil units:
1) Equipped with a three speed selector switch, it can switch between winter and summer, and is automatically controlled by linking the water circuit electric valve with the room temperature controller;
2) Equipped with a three speed selector switch, it can switch between winter and summer, and the fan can be started and stopped through a room temperature controller, implementing semi-automatic control;
3) Only equipped with a three speed selector switch, implementing manual control.
4) Fan stepless speed control.
According to the requirements of energy-saving standards, a control method combining electric temperature control valves and three speed wind speeds should be adopted.
When selecting products, attention should be paid to three issues: noise, condensation, and the quality of the motor used. This is the project with a high number of quality issues in the current sampling inspection.
10. There are different marking methods for fan coil units at home and abroad, and design selection should pay attention to and distinguish between them.

Installation key points
1. A filter should be installed at the inlet of the unit's water supply. When flushing the refrigerant water system main pipe, sewage is not allowed to pass through the coil. The high point of the coil connection should be equipped with an exhaust device, and the low point should be equipped with a drainage device.
2. The condensate discharge pipe of the fan coil unit must have a certain slope and there should be no water accumulation in the drip tray.
3. The installation of fan coil units can refer to the national building standard design atlas 01K403 "Installation of Fan Coil Units".
